Joel David Bakst is a teaching rabbi & scholar of Talmud, Kabbalah and Biblical Hebrew who for 20 years, while living in Jerusalem, studied and taught in Orthodox yeshivot. He has lectured & given workshops in Israel, the United States & India. He has written extensively about the confluence of Kabbalah and science with a special interest in the Biblical and kabbalistic references to the pineal body and the role of DMT in higher consciousness and global evolution.

He is the author of a number of books including The Foundation of Jewish Consciousness – DMT, Kabbalah and the Pineal Gland in which he further examines what he only touched upon in the documentary.
